If a large image is opened or created, when trying to create a new image from a template(a4 300ppi in this case) or using something like 300mmx200mm at any ppi GIMP crashes. When creating the image with dimensions in pixels instead of mm like 3000px x 2000px everything looks fine. 
I'm running gimp on windows xp sp3 with 1gb ram 1.5swap
