GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 554448
choice to type name with the first name in order before the given name
Last modified: 2012-03-16 17:18:15 UTC
I wonder if there is any choice to make that people could type their name with the first name in order before the given name. Distribution: Fedora release 9 (Sulphur) Gnome Release: 2.22.3 2008-07-01 (Red Hat, Inc) BugBuddy Version: 2.22.0
Thanks for taking the time to report this bug. This bug report isn't very useful because it doesn't describe the bug well. If you have time and can still reproduce the bug, please read http://bugzilla.gnome.org/bug-HOWTO.html and add a more useful description to this bug.
Created attachment 119665 [details] Cannot show my name correctly Cannot show my name correctly, you could see that my name is Ting, Chan instead of Chan Ue Ting.
Comment on attachment 119665 [details] Cannot show my name correctly May be it is a suggestion instead of bug as well. In my case, I could not show my name. In the attachment, you could see I could have my name in Ting, Chan instead of Chan, Ue Ting, while I have no idea where should the comma put, after the surname?
Please describe the problem: It is impossible to select while you have the surname placed in the first place or not. Steps to reproduce: 1. Create a contact. 2. Put your name (the one with the first name in order, before the given name). 3. Press OK. Actual results: You could see the last word of the given name was treated as the surname, while the first word of the given name was disappeared. Expected results: Evolution should support the selection of name input order, it is no reason for people changing their name order to suit the Evolution environment.
If you change options in 'File under' section which is just below 'Full name' in contact editor, will it help ?
Works for me if I select the option from the combo, with 3.3.91.
