GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 553962
Allow categories/genres for Podcasts like with Internet Radio
Last modified: 2020-03-17 08:37:36 UTC
One of the nice features on Amarok is the ability to categorize podcasts by making folders under Podcasts and dropping feeds into those folders. You can organize your podcasts into News, Tech, BBC, whatever. It really helps with clutter if you have a good number of podcasts. Banshee seems like it could/should have this ability. After all, you can create "genres" for Internet Radio streams, and organize them for quick and easy access. Since the ability is already there in part of Banshee, could it be included in the podcast side? (I'm not sure if this should be under Podcasting or User Interface -- it's a bit of both.)
Thanks for your bug; it's a good idea. This could be handled by bug 525690, theoretically.
Thanks -- that could handle it, I think.

Banshee is not under active development anymore and had its last code changes more than three years ago. Its codebase has been archived. Closing this report as WONTFIX as part of Bugzilla Housekeeping to reflect reality. Please feel free to reopen this ticket (or rather transfer the project to GNOME Gitlab, as GNOME Bugzilla is being shut down) if anyone takes the responsibility for active development again.
