gnome-terminal core in RH62
Last modified: 2004-12-22 21:47:04 UTC
Package: gnome-core Severity: normal Version: 1.0.55 >Synopsis: gnome-terminal core in RH62 >Class: sw-bug Distribution: Red Hat Linux release 6.2 (Zoot) System: Linux 2.2.14-5.0 i586 unknown C library: glibc-2.1.3-15 C compiler: egcs-2.91.66 glib: glib-1.2.6-3 GTK+: gtk+-1.2.6-7 ORBit: ORBit-0.5.0-3 gnome-libs: gnome-libs-1.0.55-12 gnome-core: gnome-core-1.0.55-12 >Description: Okay, I'm not sure about this, but I think I'm suppose to try and repeat the crash before submitting a bug report. In leu of that (due to I'm lazy) here's what happend. just editing a yahoo javascript (bottom of geocities page which HTML tidy says has lot of errors) in vim when gnome-terminal crashed. I've been switching between apps for at least 3 hours with low memory. This Extensa 670CDT/32Megs is a piece of garbage! Netscape goes defunct too when virtual memory maxes the system out. Netscape zombies refuse to die even trying to kill them with root, only logging out removes the large vertiual memory allocation and related defunct processes. Hope that helps! >How-To-Repeat: Buy TI laptop and run RH6.2 with 32 megs of ram with netscape, vim, gedit, and 7 applets on the gnome panel. Sorry, not too helpful. Is this repeatable? Does it still happen on a more recent version of GNOME?
