GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 551598
Find-As-You-Type in Filter Panes
Last modified: 2008-09-10 13:05:59 UTC
Often, I want to search for a specific album (for example "Rodrigo y Gabriela") but there is an artist with the same name (and rightfully so). Unfortunately, typing this into the search brings up ALL the albums by that artist, rather than just the self-titled. I then have to select the album from the album list. Alternatively, I could scroll through the 822 albums I have to find this specific album and select it. Neither are especially convenient. It would be nice to integrate the "Find-As-You-Type" functionality (as in Nautilus) to make it so I could just click on "All Albums" and start typing "Rodri" and it would automatically jump down to the first album beginning in those characters.

Thanks for the heads up; somehow I keep trying to search before posting, but never manage to find these things...
No worries; I'm aware because I follow all bug traffic, but I agree that Bugzilla's search is often awkward (mostly because it depends on specific words and phrases that are often described otherwise).
