GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 551014
Can't change reconciliation statement date
Last modified: 2018-06-29 22:09:40 UTC
Please describe the problem: On version 2.2.6 when trying to reconcile an account, the statement date initally chosen and displayed by the application can't be changed. Entering a new date manually and then moving the cursor to the 'ending balance' box or clicking 'OK' seems to change the Statement Date value back to the first day of the current month. This essentially means that it's not possible to reconcile, as the date forced by the system is always so recent that there are always going to be un-reconciled items (specifically uncleared cheques). Steps to reproduce: 1. XP or Vista installation of 2.2.6 2. Create new test file, British Pound, 'Common Accounts' category. 3. Enter sample transactions in the previous thee months. 4. Try to reconcile the data on any date earlier than the current month. Actual results: Your chosen date is overridden / ignored - you are forced to reconile to a date chosen by the application. Expected results: Reconciliation should be to the date specified by the user in the Statement Date field. Does this happen every time? Yes Other information: Downgrading to 2.2.5 fixes the problem
You are seeing bug 545722. The reconciliation dialog is also affected by bug 520570. Both have been patched, and you can track the progress of these fixes by following the links to their bug reports. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 545722 ***
