Description Andrés G. Aragoneses (IRC: knocte) 2008-08-29 14:37:29 UTC
Please describe the problem:
If you delete the files of your library and want to re-import a recently imported local folder, the FileChooser widget doesn't want to cooperate! (Beware, maybe this bug belongs actually to Gtk+, haven't tested yet; if so, mark it as INVALID please.)

Steps to reproduce:
1. Let's clear Banshee library for the sake of simplicity: no songs.
2. Import a local folder (File -> Import Media... -> choose "Local Folder" option -> and click "Import Media Source" button -> in the FileChooser select the folder "/home/user/var/download/", for instance.
3. The songs are imported.
4. Remove the songs from the library, it's clean again.
5. Intend to do same operation: File -> Import Media... -> choose "Local Folder" option -> and click "Import Media Source" button ->
6. Now, suddendly when the FileChooser appears, you notice that it's displaying the same folder you just imported last time, so, there's no need of browsing through the folders, you should be able to click the button "Open", so you click it.

Actual results:
Nothing happens!

Expected results:
It should re-import the local folder.

Does this happen every time?
Yes.

Other information:
There's an easy workaround to this bug:
7. Browse to the parent folder (/home/user/var/).
8. Double-click the folder "download" again.
9. Click "Open", and now it works.

However, this bug is so annoying that I've marked it as Normal instead of Minor. I hope you agree.

This looks to be a duplicate of bug 402349 (which is a GTK+ bug :). Can you confirm?

You're right man. Sorry for the dupe but it was difficult to try to locate it.

No need to apologize; I only knew about it because I reported it. A fortuitous coincidence. :)
