GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 547650
rss feeds listed multiple times
Last modified: 2009-12-19 20:21:29 UTC
Please describe the problem: I've noticed that the RSS extension often displays feed entries several times. For example, at <http://lwn.net/Articles/293689/>, the news feed subscription window contains the 'LWN Headlines' feed twice. It's only in the page's HTML once. Steps to reproduce: 1. 2. 3. Actual results: Expected results: Does this happen every time? Other information:
Works for me. Would you please give us a more detailed way to reproduce this? Please check if this still happens in 2.24
Can't reproduce this at the moment :(
I'm seeing this right now with 2.24 when viewing the feeds at <http://www.economist.com/>. However this is with an instance of Epiphany that I have had open for a while. If I start a fresh copy, this does not happen.
Right, if I refresh the page, all the RSS feeds mentioned on it are added again. If I hit refresh a few more times, I end up with an extra set of feeds each time. If I then go to, say, the BBC and check the feeds, all the multiple copies of the feeds from the Economist are still there, and the BBC feeds are also listed. If I keep refreshing, I get more copies of the BBC feeds. Then, going back to the Economist adds another set of their feeds again. This only applies to a single tab however; if I make a new tab then the feed list is reset. So it appears that the rss extension is simply not resetting the feeds list when the user navigates to a new page.
Looks like the same issue as bug#518261 and http://bugs.debian.org/512222
I can still reproduce this with epiphany (and epiphany-extensions) 2.26.1. Steps to reproduce: 1. enable the 'news feed subscriptions' extension 2. open a new tab, visit debian.org. Notice the RSS icon in the bottom left, with two DSA feeds. 3. in the same tab, visit a new page. The feeds from the previous page will still be suggested for the new page. If the new page also contains feeds, both sets of feeds will be suggested.
This works in master.
