GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 547328
Setting the same avatar for all accounts from one simple dialogue
Last modified: 2010-11-15 16:23:14 UTC
It'd be ace if I could set the same avatar (appropriately scaled) on all my accounts in a single action, rather than having to do it for each account in turn. I guess #490154 would solve this, but it'd be nice to be able to do it in the meantime.
I agree, that would be a nice feature.
I agree, and would like to add one further suggestion: The support of a Kopete-like "global identity". That means that you just have to enter you details (inkluding name, photo, whatever) just once in the prefernces dialog and Empathy will then set them automatically for each of your configured IM accounts.

That's an even nicer and more smooth solution. So when we're already talking about it: That means that the whole "About Me" info will be used? Including the set photo, etc? Because that would integrate Empathy quite nicely into the whole DE! :)
can this be considered a dup of #583534 ?
No since this bug is about the Edit / Personal Information dialog, where 583534 is about adding information on the contact list UI.
But the final aim is the same, adding informations on the main window UI = having a way to set the same avatar from one simple dialogue
