GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 547321
There is no application window when Empathy starts
Last modified: 2008-08-11 17:46:26 UTC
When you start Empathy for the first time, you get nothing. Well, a small gray rectangle shows up in the system tray. But since the system tray isn't exactly the main source of attention, you don't notice it until you stare at the desktop for a long while. Here's a screenshot even: http://img369.imageshack.us/img369/6954/screenshotxh0.png I think it would be much more logical to show the buddy window at launch, since one expects *some* kind of a window when they launch an application.
