Description Jakub 'Livio' Rusinek 2008-08-09 13:16:20 UTC
many radios give playlists instead of server&port urls.

example: http://www.radiozet.pl/content/stream/radiozet.pls

this playlist contains entries which are mirrors.

* banshee should have "mirrors" property for every radio.
* when playing a stream, banshee should have option "save/keep as radio".
* when playing playlist from a server banshee should show unintrusive notice, that this may be internet radio
Comment 1 Jakub 'Livio' Rusinek 2008-08-09 13:24:06 UTC
* support for realaudio radios like http://www.ro.com.pl/Radio_Olsztyn.ram ( pnm://rattlesnake.ro.com.pl:7070/Radio_Olsztyn.ra )

What does a "mirrors" property entail/do?

Please file separate ideas/bugs as separate reports.
Comment 4 Jakub 'Livio' Rusinek 2011-01-13 06:18:41 UTC
Radio servers tend to have lots of traffic. Media player tries to connect to first responding server and start streaming.

If first fails, then goes the second, the third...

Honestly I haven't seen other way to distribute Internet Radio than using playlists.
Comment 5 Tobias Mueller 2011-02-28 12:52:48 UTC
Well. Reopening as the requested information has been provided.
Comment 6 André Klapper 2020-03-17 08:36:53 UTC
Banshee is not under active development anymore and had its last code changes more than three years ago. Its codebase has been archived.

Closing this report as WONTFIX as part of Bugzilla Housekeeping to reflect
reality. Please feel free to reopen this ticket (or rather transfer the project
to GNOME Gitlab, as GNOME Bugzilla is being shut down) if anyone takes the
responsibility for active development again.
See https://gitlab.gnome.org/Infrastructure/Infrastructure/issues/264 for more info.
