Description Peng Deng 2008-07-31 20:19:45 UTC
Component: Plugin: Cover Art Fetching
OS: Ubuntu 8.04 (Hardy)

Problem description:

Cover.jpg etc. are supposed to be used as album cover art since version 1.2.0. But on my installation, for albums which banshee can not find proper cover arts from the internet, although there is cover.jpg file inside the albums folder, it is not used/displayed.

Step to produce:

1. Find a music album which very possibly does not have cover arts available on internet, for example a indie band album or a Chinese music album.

2. Download a cover picture and store it as cover.jpg in that album's folder

3. Import the folder into banshee

4. Play the music, or go to menu: Tools > Cover Art > Download Cover Art.

Thanks for taking the time to report this bug.
This particular bug has already been reported into our bug tracking system, but we are happy to tell you that the problem has already been fixed. It should be solved in the next software version. You may want to check for a software upgrade.

For some albums you may still have problems due to outstanding bug 528137.
