Description Brian 2008-07-05 21:53:44 UTC
Please describe the problem:
When I write french ipa nasal signs (see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/French_phonology) into the gnome-terminal, the sign is behaving weirdly - it is probably shown as two signs, but handled as one. The file with problematic signs is attached. When the file is opened in <gedit>, everything is correct, but when it is opened in gnome-terminal (I tried to use the same font) in vim or cat, the signs are shown in place of two.

Steps to reproduce:
1.Launch browser, select and copy from http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/French_phonology
2. View file in gnome-terminal
3.

Actual results:
The characters are misdisplayed

Expected results:
The characters should be displayed properly

Does this happen every time?
Yes
