Vinagre currently only captures some keyboard events and some are captured by the GNOME desktop before reaching vinagre.
As examples of this, I can mention Alt+F2, Alt+F4, Ctrl+Alt+Left/Right, etc.
Program which implement those features sucessfully are most virtual machines UI. At least VMWare and VirtualBox (including Open Source Edition) do.

This particular bug has already been reported into our bug tracking system, but we are happy to tell you that the problem has already been fixed. It should be solved in the next software version. You may want to check for a software upgrade.
