Description jiminyjones 2008-05-23 13:02:59 UTC
Please describe the problem:
If I set GDM to login automatically, the key binding I set for switching the keyboard layout doesn't work (changing some setting in the layout options, such as ticking and unticking anything there fixes it). When autologin is off, the key binding works fine.

Steps to reproduce:
1. Enable autologin
2. Restart
3. Keyboard layout switching key binding should not work

Actual results:
I cannot switch my keyboard layout using my selected key binding

Expected results:
As mentioned above

Does this happen every time?
Yes

Other information:
OS: Ubuntu 8.04 (Hardy Heron) 32bit
GFX: GeForce 8600GT (using restricted drivers)
CPU: AMD Athlon X2 64 4800+

Thanks for taking the time to report this bug.
However, you are using a version that is too old and not supported anymore. GNOME developers are no longer working on that version, so unfortunately there will not be any bug fixes for the version that you use.

By upgrading to a newer version of GNOME you could receive bug fixes and new functionality. You may need to upgrade your Linux distribution to obtain a newer version of GNOME.
Please feel free to reopen this bug if the problem still occurs with a newer version of GNOME.
