It would be nice if evince could watch the displayed file for changes, and update the display itself (reload) if the file has changed.

This is the #1 feature I miss most in evince (available in gv).

If you use LaTeX to prepare your documents, it's a common practice to enter into a edit -> process with LaTeX -> display -> edit cycle once you've got your writing essentially done and want to tweak the final look of the document or polish it a bit.

Using gv, you only have to care about edit->latex, because the display will be updated whenever the generated .ps or .pdf changes.

gv --watch file.ps

This feature is not available in Adobe's Reader, and would be a win to have it available in evince.
