GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 532019
Gnometris keyboard overrun
Last modified: 2012-01-31 23:21:15 UTC
Please describe the problem: The keyboard buffer may fill up while playing Gnometris in Ubuntu 7.10, leading to unpredictable game behaviour or temporary loss of control. Steps to reproduce: 1. Play the game in the normal fashion until the game gets into higher levels. 2. 3. Actual results: As tiles fall more rapidly, the game doesn't process keyboard inputs fast enough to actually move/rotate the tiles. If one has supplied extra keystrokes to move the tile that aren't used by the time the tile settles at the bottom of the game pane, they remain in the buffer when the next tile appears, causing it to move accordingly, but not the way the player desires. Eventually, the game becomes uncontrollable and the player loses, long before the player's speed/skill is exceeded. Expected results: The keyboard buffer should be cleared when a new tile appears at the top of the pane. Motion of the new tile should have no relationship to the previous tile that has already settled at the bottom. Clearing of the buffer and release of the new tile should occur after a delay of one tile motion interval (about 0.1 second), to allow the player the opportunity to move the settled tile laterally to tuck it under an overhanging tile. Does this happen every time? Yes Other information:
