GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 530314
Hangs during startup - ssl deadlock?
Last modified: 2014-04-26 19:04:52 UTC
Evolution hangs during startup. The backtrace seems to indicate deadlock when trying to get passwords for both my accounts (I have a pop and an IMAP account):
+ Trace 196315
item=0xb54e370e "password", flag
Created attachment 110023 [details] full trace
It appears to be both prompting you for a password and asking if you want to accept a bad SSL certificate. Do you not see any popup dialogs?
No, there weren't any popup dialogs. I've worked around the problem by removing a ldap connection configuration (this never worked anyway) - perhaps there is a threading issue in the ssl check code for ldap? This isn't causing a problem for me anymore because of the workaround, so I don't mind if you want to close this report.
Hi Mark, if you have time, could you please check again whether this issue still happens in Evolution 3.8.5 or 3.6.4 and update this report by adding a comment and changing the "Version" field and provide information about your distribution? Thanks a lot.
