GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 529816
Supplement "CUSIP" by "ISIN", to give people outside USA a hint
Last modified: 2018-06-29 22:03:52 UTC
When I looked over more than a dozen .po files, I watched, that "CUSIP" in most cases was not localised. I got the impression, most translators had no idea of the meaning. I would suggest, to 1. replace it by "ISIN/CUSIP", because I assume, that the international security identification number is better known. 2. add an advise for the translator, to replace CUSIP by the national security identification number. Other information: Patch follows.
Created attachment 109878 [details] [review] 4 replaces of "CUSIP" by "ISIN/CUSIP" I hope, I catched all occurrences. As this makes 4 strings fuzzy, choose the time to apply wise and in coordination with cstim. As noted in http://lists.gnucash.org/pipermail/gnucash-de/2008-April/005850.html, we talked about this in March 2007. I am not really happy with my translator advice, as the strings are dispersed in the .pot file. Possible an entry in glassary would be more helpful, but I don't know how to do.
Committed as r17461, awaiting backport to 2.2 branch.
Applied to branches/2.2 as r17537 for inclusion in GnuCash 2.2.7. Thanks a lot!
