ubuntu 7.10 cannot recognize my sound card

You have come to the wrong place.  You say that Ubuntu doesn't recognize your soundcard, but there's nothing GStreamer can do about that.  GStreamer uses ALSA, OSS and friends to talk to your audio hardware, so the operating system has to provide drivers for these in the first place.

Try filing a bug against Ubuntu on launchpad.net.
