GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 523621
High CPU usage playing AAC with crossfade backend
Last modified: 2008-03-21 00:25:37 UTC
Rhythmbox uses quite a lot of CPU when playing AAC files with the crossfade backend. On my 1.8GHz processor, top shows Rhythmbox using 25-30% CPU with crossfade, and around 1-2% with the old backend. Here's an example AAC stream: http://www.radioparadise.com/musiclinks/rp_128aac.m3u
This is just GStreamer's audioresample element being slow again. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 385061 ***
