Description Leif Gruenwoldt 2008-03-03 17:16:21 UTC
Although Bug 358674 has gotten a lot of attention, the functionality to maximize a window horitzontally/vertically should also be in the window title bar right-click property menu. This menu already contains related window sizing functionality (like maximize, minimize, move, etc) and having maximize hor/vert options in this location would be more discoverable for the user.

Thomas Thurman mentioned this fix would be made in libwnck.

(...as well as in metacity, but yes).

This seems reasonable to me; what do other folks think?
Comment 2 John Stowers 2008-03-07 02:34:45 UTC
To be honest I thought that was what the other bug resolved as a solution. I am surprised its not in the title bar menu. It makes sense to be consistent here.

+1

bugzilla.gnome.org is being replaced by gitlab.gnome.org. We are closing all old bug reports in Bugzilla which have not seen updates for many years.

If you can still reproduce this issue in a currently supported version of GNOME (currently that would be 3.38), then please feel free to report it at https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/metacity/-/issues/

Thank you for reporting this issue and we are sorry it could not be fixed.
