GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 518165
Fullscreen without zooming
Last modified: 2008-08-18 15:30:24 UTC
In some cases it might be nice to be able to go fullscreen, but still view the video at its native resolution. zooming looks crappy on my machine, bad scaling somehow - i prefer the native resolution of a HD movie to a slightly larger but badly scaled. i'm not sure how this could be implemented UI wise. maybe as a "hidden" feature, where you have to press 1 after going fullscreen?
You can try the zoom in/out in the menu, unless you use GStreamer, in which case, see bug 171916.
I do use the GStreamer backend, but I'm not sure the bug you mention talks about the same thing. What I'm suggesting is using the fullscreen function to get rid of all the other clutter on the screen, watching the movie on a black background -- but in its native resolution.

Which you could do if we could zoom out using the GStreamer backend. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 171916 ***
