Description Michael Monreal 2008-01-25 12:39:40 UTC
The dialog window "jumps" to a bigger size every time when it is opened. Either no or a too small default size is given. Setting a size that prevents the dialog from having to auto-resize just after starting would fix this "glitch".
Comment 1 André Klapper 2008-01-25 13:48:11 UTC
what dialog?
Comment 2 Michael Monreal 2008-01-25 13:55:03 UTC
Wow... sorry for filing such a messy bug! I was talking about the preferences window, so s/dialog/preferences
Comment 3 Matthew Barnes 2008-03-03 13:20:26 UTC
I think it gets shown before it's done loading all the dynamic content.
May not be so trivial to fix; adjusting severity.
Comment 4 Matthew Barnes 2008-03-11 00:36:49 UTC
Bumping version to a stable release.

demo screencast

this bug in turn causes a bigger fuckup for anyone with a modest resolution, such as 1024x768, as demonstrated in this short screencast. Because the window is drawn before being populated, it resizes itself, but that also means that the window manage *calculates its window placement wrong*.

Result? the thing jumps offscreen because the window manager (or evolution, or buddah, or whatever controls the placement) thinks it is smaller than it actually is. Urk.
Comment 7 Matthew Barnes 2009-03-28 01:15:01 UTC
This is now fixed on the kill-bonobo branch, and is a dupe of bug #272967.
