Description Joanmarie Diggs (IRC: joanie) 2008-01-23 15:37:51 UTC
On the Orca list:
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Hey all, I seem to be having trouble accessing www.sourceforge.com with
Orca. Tabbing through links does not work at all. Also, navigating by object
with Orca left/right arrows is really weird. I hear for example "login link
grayed." and "create account link grayed."If I navigate by object far enough
to the right, I get stuck at the first text field. and further attempts to
navigate by object results in Orca saying "new, text, m." It gets stuck
right there. I'm also having this problem on my Ubuntu test laptop as well
as the Gentoo desktop.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

I can confirm this on sourceforge.net (sourceforge.com works for me) both with the current Orca from trunk as well as the "pre-performance-enhancement Orca". Something funky is definitely going on. :-(
Comment 1 Joanmarie Diggs (IRC: joanie) 2008-01-24 02:50:39 UTC
We are uber-blocked. :-(

When one tabs we get focus events for objects of ROLE_INVALID. This is why we don't speak them. The bogus objects (which lack state sensitive) also explain why we're saying "grayed" when one arrows among them.

I filed this bug against Mozilla:
https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=413777

I haven't triaged the stuckage-related issue yet, but we have some known issues on that front that are the result of the new line navigation. I'll address this part of the bug as part of those fixes.
Comment 2 Joanmarie Diggs (IRC: joanie) 2008-01-26 08:24:54 UTC
Retargeting to FUTURE as I cannot do anything about the blockage (including hacking effectively around the issue "in the meantime"). :-( As previously commented, stuckage is being addressed as part of the other line nav bugs.
Comment 3 Joanmarie Diggs (IRC: joanie) 2008-02-12 18:57:51 UTC
The blocking bug has been marked as fixed and we now speak items being tabbed to at sourceforge. Closing as NOTGNOME.
