Please describe the problem:
svn revision 3044

I ran configure on a system which did not meet the minimum version requirement for gnome-vfs.  configure succeeded.

Steps to reproduce:
1. select a system with a too old version of gnome-vfs
2. run configure
3. 


Actual results:
configure succeeds.

Expected results:
configure should fail when it tests the version of gnome-vfs

Does this happen every time?
yes

Other information:
Nearby in configure.in, there are other, similar tests.  These probably do not fail when the minimum version is not met, too.
