GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 504249
GnuCash 2.2.1 and 2.2.2 fail to load on Windows Vista
Last modified: 2018-06-29 21:56:48 UTC
This applies to GnuCash versions 2.2.2 and 2.2.1. on Windows Vista. Version 2.2.0 works fine. Software fails to load. The attempt takes several minutes. If the main window finally loads, opening a file fails with unhelpful error messages. The program then hangs. Killing the process is the only option to get rid of it. Version 2.2.0 is the only one that loads and works normally on my Windows system. I have attempted complete uninstall before installing 2.2.1 or 2.2.2, deleting the .gconfd etc folders manually before reinstall. No effect. Only downgrading to 2.2.0 works.
Please review <http://bugzilla.gnome.org/page.cgi?id=bug-status.html#bug_severity> ; this – while severe – is not a blocker. I believe this is Bug#363648. See also Bug#449153. If these don't fit the bill, please reopen or something. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 363648 ***
Yes, that was it.
The setup.exe provided yesterday unfortunately shipped incorrect DLLs. May you please try to download the updated setup.exe, install and try again? Thanks.
