I have my multiload applet next to the workspace switcher, this makes me click it sometimes by mistake, the result of this is g-s-m popping and making me mad.

I would appreciate the option to make this behaviour optional.
Patch against 2.20.x attached.

My only issue with this is the alignment of the checkbox and the text of course, maybe it could use some love.

Can you post a screenshot of multiload with your patch?

It looks exactly the same. The difference is that now when you click it it will show or not show g-s-m based on the preference.
Btw, I think I broke some redraws, not sure.
