Hey,

It has been requested a few times before but doesn't got made/implanted yet (or so it seems).

You did made a nice mockup of what you want.. KDE has done it before:

However i would go for a slightly different style..
i would go for a for a mix between your mockup and the one that is in KDE. The image/icon/thumbnail should be in the upper left and all the information should go  beside it (not below). Actually the same as the KDE thing only than have the image in the upper left instead of the left center.
