GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 498143
Notification area does not display certain characters properly
Last modified: 2007-11-19 10:21:12 UTC
Please describe the problem: The "notification" window that pops up when Rhythmbox is minimized to a status icon and switches tracks does not display certain characters properly. For example, if I am playing a track titled "Diggin' a Watery Grave", the notification window says "Diggin' a Watery Grave". It occurs only for track titles, not for artist names and other information shown in the notification area. Steps to reproduce: 1. Start Rhythmbox, select a play list with a song that contains either an apostrophe or ampersand in its title. Start playing the song just before this in the play list. 2. Minimize Rhythmbox to a notification icon by clicking on the notification icon. 3. Right-click the Rhythmbox icon and select "Next". Actual results: The notification window that pops up shows the escape characters instead of the apostrophe or ampersand Expected results: The correct characters should be shown in the label Does this happen every time? Yes Other information:
