GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 498073
Image preview in Open File Dialog
Last modified: 2009-02-06 09:18:10 UTC
The Open File Dialog should have an option to see a list of images as thumbnails. If I choose to send some file through Pidgin or aMSN, I must open a nautilus window, search for the file to get his name and then pick the file in dialog. This feature will be great if the selected folder contains a thousand of pictures with no intuitive file names (i.e. numbered named files downloaded from a digital camera). Gimp uses an Open File Dialog with thumbnail, but it only show the preview of one image. A folder with thousands of images will be a pain to find the one you are looking for.
I could be wrong but i think this has to be made in GTK [1] and not in Nautilus? [1] more exactly: http://library.gnome.org/devel/gtk/unstable/GtkFileChooserDialog.html
I vote for this feature too. And indeed it belongs to the GTK file chooser.
-> GtkFileChooser Thanks, reassigning.
This seems like a dupe of bug 315207 for me (sorry if I am wrong)
Yes, this could be marked as a #315207 duplicate.
