Description Nelson Benitez 2007-11-15 15:25:30 UTC
Please describe the problem:
Hi!,
when I select "save as" in a dialog, the original name of the document appears as default for the file we are saving, but if I just want to save it in a new folder and so press the create folder icon in filechooser then when I press enter to enter the folder the filename disappears and I have to type it again...

You could say it's a bug in filechooser but I'm filing against gedit because the filechooser works well in file-roller application, try open a zip with file-roller and choose "save as" option, you can create a folder and save it on it without loosing the original filename, so I suppose that maybe gedit is doing something wrong...

Steps to reproduce:
1. open an existent document in gedit
2. type some letters
3. click "save as" to save the document
4. click click the "create folder" icon in filechooser, give the folder some name and press enter to enter the folder.
5. Now the original filename for saving the file has disappeared. You have to type it again...

Actual results:

Expected results:
Preserve the original filename, as the filechooser in file-roller does... also filechooser in windows does this fine...

Does this happen every time?
yes
