Description raptor405 2007-11-12 23:45:00 UTC
There should be an option for automatic playlists to reference another playlists. For example, "Playlist" "is" "My favorites" or something similar.

I came here to put in a request like this. Glad I found this bug.

This would be a very nice feature. For example, I'm currently participating in National Novel Writing Month. As such, I have a 'NaNo Music' playlist. But I'd like to hear the stuff on that playlist that I haven't heard in a while. So I want to build an automatic playlist where:

* The source is the 'NaNo Music' playlist

AND

* The last-played time is greater than a week (or whatever).

This would allow for some fairly clever (and complex) automatic playlist creation. Automatic playlists should, of course, be able to refer to /other/ automatic playlists in this method.

Also, both /is/ and /is not/ should work, for obvious reasons. (Sometimes I don't want to hear glitch electronic music, for example.)

Not that you'd know it by the bug summary, but this is being worked on in bug 153286.
