GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 492603
Send fails via "Edit as New Message..." & previously used gpg key has been removed
Last modified: 2016-04-05 09:27:35 UTC
Please describe the problem: Some time ago I switched from using gpg to using a s/mime certificate. I deleted the reference in Preferences > Security to the Key and unchecked the actions. Every-so-often I do something and a message composed to send refuses to send because it can't find a gpg key. I've changed machine and had hoped that I'd left the bug behind - but it's followed me. In this instance (can't remember if the error was similarly caused previously, but will repeat to check consistency) the error was caused by attempted to compose and send an email via the "Edit as New Message..." option. Seems that this is completely consistent: every message I attempt to compose and send an email via the "Edit as New Message..." causes the error below. The "Evolution Error" pop window reads as follows: Could not create message. Because "gpg: skipped "morgan@read.org.nz": secret key not available gpg: signing failed: secret key not available ", you may need to select different mail options. Steps to reproduce: 1. Use pgp signatures for signing email for some time 2. Delete and disable pgp signatures 3. Create and attempt to send new message via the "Edit as New Message..." dialog Actual results: Error as described above, send fails Expected results: Message sent Does this happen every time? Yes (as described above) Other information:
That's not a good bug title, perhaps change to: Send fails when message composed via "Edit as New Message..." and previously used gpg key has been removed
