https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/evince/+bug/159224

"I use evince to view .cbr (comics) files, which are actually just a .rar containing images. There are usually images I don't want to keep, but deleting them is tedious because I have to open them with fileroller, guess which one it is I don't want and open it to check I'm right.

It would be much easier for me if I could right-click the image in the thumbnail collection, and select a "delete image" menu item. Would this be possible?"

Evince currently doesn't allow saving individual pages (bug 341008), reordering pages, or deleting pages for any of the formats it supports. And I'm not sure that the UI is particularly suitable compared to something like PDFMod which provides this functionality for PDF files.

I've retitled and made this bug more generic, and we'll see what the maintainers and designers think.
Comment 2 Germán Poo-Caamaño 2017-07-19 18:20:58 UTC
It has already been proposed before. Bryan and Carlos stated that Evince will not become a PDF editor, although it should support form filling and annotations.
