Description james 2007-10-28 09:42:53 UTC
Version: 2.10

Suddestion: Evolution Canendar does not scroll using arrow keys.

Use Case: James wants to count 7 weeks from a milestone. He selects the start date in 'Month' view and presses 'Down Arrow' seven times.

MS Outlook scrolls Weeks (Up/Down Arrow) and Days (L/R Arrow).
Evolution scrolls within the currently displayed date range, but does not scroll and redraw beyond this.

Distribution: Fedora release 7 (Moonshine)
Gnome Release: 2.18.3 2007-07-02 (Red Hat, Inc)
BugBuddy Version: 2.18.0

it does. use control+arrow.
Comment 2 James Derrick 2007-10-28 14:03:43 UTC
Using the Fedora 7 package of Evolution 2.10.3, I can't see any difference using the CTRL modifier in Day, Work Week, Week, Month, nor List.

Using Unbuntu Gutsy, Evolution 2.12.0, CTRL again doesn't make any difference. ALT-arrow doesn't do anything.

Could the behavior have changed in recent versions, or via a config setting please?

My detailed steps to reproduce:
Left side bar -> Calenders
Top bar -> Month
Top bar -> Today
Day selection cursor is on today's date in the middle pane which shows the current month with a few days either side.

Up/Down = moves selected day backward/ forward one week
Left/ Right = moves selected day backward/ forward one day

Arrow keys DO NOT scroll beyond dates on screen

CTRL-Arrow shows no difference
ALT-Up/Down does nothing.
ALT-Left/ Right seems to move week, but the day cursor does not move so the month calender seems to jump each 3, 4 or 5 presses.

Best regards,

James

i'm running evolution 2.21.x-svn on a fedora platform, there haven't been any changes as far as i know.

alt-* does not do anything here, looks like what is pagedown here. my first comment seemed to be wrong, yeah, sorry.

Same Use-Case, Version 2.26.1

Display: Calendar / Month-View

Use Case: Robert wants to count 7 weeks from a milestone. He selects the start
date in 'Month' view and presses 'Down Arrow' seven times.

This would work in Google-Calendar and Microsoft Outlook.

In Evolution: Page-Down would jump to the next month having the 1st in the first row. Using the mouse and scrolling would also just jump from month to month.

I would wish to have "smooth" scrolling - scroll with the mouse or with with cursor-up and cursor-down from week to week.

This is important also because in the end of the month I want to have an overview of the next weeks and not of the last 4 weeks.

Arrow keys to scroll work for me in 3.8.5 in month view.
