Description Joachim Breitner 2007-10-25 20:55:04 UTC
Please describe the problem:
Hi,

I’m not sure if the subject line is comprehensible... Here is what I’m doing:

Steps to reproduce:
Assume I have an account where I regulary move money through. So for example I have.

1.1.2000 Balance: €2 (reconciled)
2.1.2000 Add Money: 1€
3.1.2000 Remove Money: 2€

now I want to reconcile the balance using HBCI. My bank says that I have 2€.

When I use the HBCI menu to reconcile my acc

Actual results:
Then Gnucash says something like „Your balance is already 2€, nothing to reconcile“ with an ok button.

Expected results:
Rather it should detect that there are unreconciled transactions and go to the reconcilation screen.

Does this happen every time?
Yes

Other information:
I can still manually enter the current amount in the reconcile button and reconcile those transactions. The bug happens here only with the HBCI module. I did not check other kinds of import.

I think the example should say
 1.1.2000 Balance: €2 (reconciled)
 2.1.2000 Add Money: 1€
 3.1.2000 Remove Money: 1€
so that you happen to have the same amount as at the previous reconcile.

The probability of this situation to occur is obviously rather small, if we're talking about a real account here. Is this really an issue?

(And I wonder whether there's an easy way to check for un-reconciled transactions from the HBCI module.)

Again sorry for not answering your questions earlier, something must have been wrong at that time with mail and gnucash.

I is a real issue. I have my credit card at a different bank, so I have an account there that is debited when I use the card. I always keep that account at the same level, so when I pay something with my credit card, I move the exact same amount of money to that account.

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug. However, you are using a version that is too old and not supported anymore. The GnuCash developers are no longer working on that version, so either this bug has already been fixed or unfortunately there will not be any bug fixes for the version that you use. The current stable version of gnucash is 2.4.0 now.

In the (hopefully unlikely) case you discover the same bug in the very latest stable version, do not hesitate to REOPEN it again. Also, feel free to file other bugs or enhancement requests that you find. Thank you very much!
