GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 485663
svg causes high CPU and mem usage
Last modified: 2010-04-14 09:13:28 UTC
Please describe the problem: I came a across an svg file (see attachment) that causes Nautilus to use 100% CPU and makes the system unusable. I guess it has to do with the thumbnail generation. Steps to reproduce: 1. Place attached file on your Desktop Actual results: CPU usage goes up to 100% Expected results: I would like to get a thumbnail preview of the file or (if the thumbnailer detects that the file is too big or whatever) display a generic icon. Does this happen every time? Yep Other information: You can get the file that causes the problem here: https://stage.maemo.org/svn/maemo/projects/haf/trunk/hildon-theme-plankton/template/template.svg
Nice one. Is this a valid SVG? Even Gimp cannot open it. On my machine memory usage goes up until the kernel kills nautilus.
The file is found in http://repository.maemo.org/pool/diablo/free/h/hildon-theme-plankton/hildon-theme-plankton_4.14.4-1.tar.gz and it includes xlink:href represented by absolute path. So this bug is a duplicate of bug 590788. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 590788 ***
