Description apost 2001-09-10 01:18:37 UTC
If I have a Nautilus window open to a directory (say, $HOME), and I create a new
file or folder in a subdirectory (say, $HOME/bin), I would expect that Nautilus
would update the number of items in $HOME/bin. It doesn't.

How to reproduce:
Open up nautilus to $HOME. Create a new folder named TEST. Make sure that
Nautilus is displaying the number of items underneath the folder name. For TEST,
it should display "0 items." Now, open up a text editor, create a new file, and
save it to $HOME/TEST. After a few seconds, the number of items in TEST should
change to "1 item," but it doesn't.

Workaround: hit the Refresh button.

Desired behavior: Nautilus should update the number of items in a folder when
that value has changed.

I'm running Nautilus 1.0.3 with GNOME 1.4 on a Mandrake 7.2 box.

Taking bugs previously assigned to Pavel, assigning them to myself. Will parse
them out at my leisure , but many are GnomeVFS bugs we should look at for 2.0

Changing to "old" target milestone for all bugs laying around with no milestone set.

Confirming still a nasty bug. I'm thinking there might be some dupes
out there too.
Comment 3 Luis Villa 2002-05-14 22:49:38 UTC
Wouldn't exactly call this nasty, but yeah, would be nice to fix.
