GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 47810
need a way to make permission changes both to a directory and all files in the directory recursively
Last modified: 2004-12-22 21:47:04 UTC
If I select a directory right click on it, select "Show properties" and the Permissions I can change the permissions there. But there's nothing that says that the permissions are changed only for the directory, or recursively. If the permissions are changed only for that directory, fine, but there should be a way to do it recursively, and it's best if it's in the same dialog. Yes, it's very useful to be able to change permissions recursively, and a pretty common operation too. ------- Additional Comments From snickell@stanford.edu 2001-07-23 00:38:45 ---- Taking bugs previously assigned to Pavel, assigning them to myself. Will parse them out at my leisure , but many are GnomeVFS bugs we should look at for 2.0 ------- Bug moved to this database by unknown@bugzilla.gnome.org 2001-09-09 21:31 ------- The original reporter (dann@godzilla.ics.uci.edu) of this bug does not have an account here. Reassigning to the exporter, unknown@bugzilla.gnome.org.
Changing to "old" target milestone for all bugs laying around with no milestone set.
I don't think there's a fix yet. Marking GNOME2.
