Description Patrick van Staveren 2007-09-07 01:06:38 UTC
After reading the XDG spec (http://standards.freedesktop.org/basedir-spec/basedir-spec-0.6.html), I'm not entirely convinced that Banshee's database should be in $XDG_CONFIG_HOME but rather in $XDG_DATA_HOME. Plugins definitely fit the bill for data as well.

Discussion before we write patches? :)

Hrm, I see what you're saying. I think you're right (other than the small bits of config we put in the db). I've gotten kind of used to ~/.config/banshee[-1]/ now though...wish we'd caught this when we went from ~/.gnome2/banshee/.

Sorry Patrick, closing this (trying to clean up bugzilla). :) Not important enough, and not clear enough that _DATA_HOME is really the right place either (since that would be for more user-created data, not what is essentially a cache...though also some user-data w/ ratings etc).
Comment 3 Patrick van Staveren 2008-05-30 09:21:43 UTC
No worries :)
