Please describe the problem:
I have upgraded from GIMP 2.2.12 to 2.2.17 on windows VISTA.  All seemed to install OK but when I try to run GIMP the splash screen opens up and lock when it get to the FONT part of the load.

Steps to reproduce:
1. run GIMP
2. 
3. 


Actual results:
GIMP locks up need to kill process in task manager

Expected results:
GIMP should run

Does this happen every time?
yes
