Bright foreground and normal background of the same color prevent the cursor from blinking

Go back to one of the space characters just entered Actual results: The cursor is not blinking anymore and is not visible Expected results: A blinking cursor Does this happen every time? I've visually expected the source of the latest vte that I found on the net (vte-0.16.8) and it doesn't seem that this "problem" has been rectified.

Hi! What is the status of this bug? We're already almost 2010. It's still there, manifests on latest VTE and the patch from Alt fixes the issue. There's another patch from Ubuntu, a shorter one if you are interested: https://bugs.launchpad.net/debian/+source/vte/+bug/243953
