Description A 2007-08-31 21:53:34 UTC
highlight multiple cells, type something -> cells merge with my text inside
or
highlight multiple cells, type something -> all highlighted cells have the contents I type

user configurable in options
Comment 1 Andreas J. Guelzow 2010-06-09 17:13:11 UTC
I may have highlighted several cells to type information into each of them (the enter and tab keys stay automatically within the same selection. This would collide with both of your suggestions.
Comment 2 Andreas J. Guelzow 2010-06-19 02:53:44 UTC
Unless we can figure out a mechanism to decide which of the three behaviours should should happen this is really a WONTFIX. I would thin kthat yor suggestions are different ways of interpreting "editing" In that way it is really in the same ballpark as bug #53733.

I should have noted that your second version "highlight multiple cells, type something -> all highlighted cells have the contents I type" has been implemented for a long time, just enter the data with ctrl-enter.
