GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 466822
auto-interest on reconcile for bank account gets reversed
Last modified: 2018-06-29 21:46:03 UTC
Please describe the problem: I have an account, Assets:Current Assets:Checking Account, designated as a bank account. I have it marked for auto interest payments upon reconcile; interest pays from Income:Interest Income:Checking Interest. All of the existing interest transactions in the account follow this pattern. When the auto-interest window pops up, it correctly shows "Checking Account" in the "Reconcile Account" window. However, when I then enter the amount and description in the window and hit tab, the reconcile account changes to the other account, "Checking Interest", and can't be edited, so I can't enter the interest payment properly. Steps to reproduce: See above. Actual results: See above. Expected results: See above. Does this happen every time? Yes. Other information:
Thank you for the bugreport. Could you perhaps additionally add a screenshot of the moment when the wrong account is shown there? Or even a (short, simple) gnucash example file so that we can directly reproduce the problematic behaviour? That would help a lot in fixing this bug. Thanks!
Created attachment 94050 [details] gnucash test file Open Checking Account, click Reconcile, enter any amount for the interest payment and "Interest" for the description and hit tab, and watch how the "Reconcile account" changes to the wrong account and is greyed out so you can't edit it.
This one should be fixed by r17149 on trunk which is marked for backport to branches/2.2 for inclusion in GnuCash 2.2.6. Thanks a lot for your patience!
Applied to branches/2.2 as r17355 for inclusion in GnuCash 2.2.6.
