Description Joanmarie Diggs (IRC: joanie) 2007-08-14 15:39:18 UTC
This is a tracking bug for the following Mozilla bug:

https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=392203
text-changed events are missing when text is added to a document via javascript
Comment 1 Joanmarie Diggs (IRC: joanie) 2007-08-14 15:41:32 UTC
Our test case to verify the fix, once it's fixed, is 411.com. Activate the "phone" link in the search results. Having done so, we should be able to Up Arrow to the number.
Comment 2 Joanmarie Diggs (IRC: joanie) 2007-08-14 18:10:47 UTC
Actually, this is broader. We don't get the events in entries either. :-(
Comment 3 Joanmarie Diggs (IRC: joanie) 2007-08-19 22:32:22 UTC
We now get the events in entries, but the original 411.com issue is still present. Based on the comments on the original bug we're tracking, that's a different issue. So now we're watching this bug instead:

https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=391846
Comment 4 Joanmarie Diggs (IRC: joanie) 2007-08-29 20:11:43 UTC
The bug in comment #3 has been marked as FIXED, and I'm seeing the text-changed:insert events. Sometimes I'm seeing text-changed:delete events; sometimes I'm not. Other bad juju that's causing hangs in Orca also seems to be related to this change. :-(

So I'm unblocking and continuing to investigate.
Comment 5 Joanmarie Diggs (IRC: joanie) 2007-08-30 01:01:23 UTC
Okay, I'm closing this one. Our troubles now are that the proverbial rug is getting pulled out from under us (the phone link on 411.com changes state, loses text, etc. all while we're sitting on it, all without getting a single event.)

I filed bug #471642 on it.
