there are lots of translations with more than 100% translated, see:

http://l10n.gnome.org/module/gnome-icon-theme

I think it's because the translations aren't updated, but I bet you will now better ;)

I'd rather first investigate how did this happen, and then fix that problem instead.

Of course, but I cannot reproduce the problem locally. 
If you have time to debug this soon despite your very busy schedule, great!
Otherwise, a simple refresh on the server could do the job, as it's important that stats being up-to-date for the 2.20 process.

It's OK now, probably due to an update of gnome-icon-theme pot file. Somewhat mysterious :-/
