GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 46335
Medusa and SLocate should to combine forces, or one replace the other
Last modified: 2004-12-22 21:47:04 UTC
Medusa and SLocate have similar goals. As far as I can see, medusa does everything slocate does and more. If it doesn't, medusa should be changed so that it does all that slocate does (including having a text-terminal interface), so that if I install medusa, i can uninstal slocate. * REPRODUCIBLE: Always * STEPS TO REPRODUCE: . * ACTUAL RESULTS: . * EXPECTED RESULTS: . ------- Additional Comments From sullivan@eazel.com 2001-02-05 15:22:31 ---- Sounds like a worthwhile goal someday, but not a short-term project. Marking deferred since it won't be addressed for Nautilus 1.0. ------- Additional Comments From sullivan@eazel.com 2001-02-05 15:28:31 ---- *** Bug 46337 has been marked as a duplicate of this bug. *** ------- Additional Comments From rebecka@eazel.com 2001-02-11 17:50:29 ---- I can create an slocate wrapper that will use medusa indices instead of the slocate ones. Then slocate can be turned off or uninstalled. ------- Additional Comments From loban@earthling.net 2001-02-11 22:55:39 ---- That's great!! So am I correct to assume that medusa is already a superset of slocate? ------- Additional Comments From rebecka@eazel.com 2001-02-11 23:53:01 ---- Yes, medusa is already a superset of slocate. ------- Bug moved to this database by unknown@bugzilla.gnome.org 2001-09-09 20:59 -------
