Description Quim Gil 2007-07-31 09:01:27 UTC
Some problems using https://edit.gnome.jardigrec.eu/en/recently_modified :

- The list shows "by..." who is the original author of the page, but it would be more useful to have the author of the actual edit.

- It would be great to have there a link to the page that shows the diff of the modification. Otherwise you have to go to the view page and then find out.

- In fact I don't see where can you find such diff. Clicking "versions" gives you an option to create a new version. Should we understand that the diffs and information of a change is only stored when an editor makes an explicit new version?

Putting "minor" since this is not a big issue at this stage, but it become "major" if we haven't solved these issues in the near future.

Overwrite the documentByLine in wgo.theme. It's a viewlet in plone.app.layout.viewlets.

Should this information only be shown to special users? http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=454564 requests to remove author and modification date.

Configure automatic versioning in wgo.policy.
Automatic versioning can be configured by hand for every content type (page, file, ...) in "Site Setup" (in the footer of the site) -> "Types" -> select a type and a versioning policy.

For what content types should versioning be enabled?
- Pages (static html pages)
- Files (Note: there's a hard 32MB limit for versioning at the moment:
         http://dev.plone.org/plone/ticket/7223)
- Images (same as Files)
- Folders
- News Items (not used afaik, we aggregate news from news.gnome.org)
- Events (not present in the mockup, but in CmsRequirements)
- Links
- Collections (Let' you configure some search criteria and a template for the
  result)

The versioning part of this ticket is resolved:

Versioning (automatic, without any action of the editor) is configured for
- Page
- News Item
- Event
- Link

Diffs are activated for these types in http://dev.plone.org/collective/changeset/77538, so you can compare versions on the History-Tab.

These types are not versioned:
- File
- Favorite
- Collection
- Folder

As this ticket contains two topics, I only change the summary.
