Description Bill Case 2007-07-26 15:15:29 UTC
For me, gucharmap is a quick use tool. Open it; pick the unicode char or glyph you want; copy and paste; close it. The defaults are always set to the least useful for me, so I would like to have some control over how gucharmap originally displays.

For example, by using a menu 'preferences' dialogue, I should be able to set as my default: The default view; By script, or By unicode block; a default script rather than just the first name on a alphabetical list; and a different default font. Perhaps there should be in preferences a separate button that that allows me to return all the fields to the settings 'as shipped'.

I believe that this request is all frontend based should not interfere with how the unicode database is constructed.
